Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier recorded and produced String Noise (Conrad Harris and Pauline Kim Harris) in his closet and the results couldn’t be more wondrous! This beautiful homemade lathe cut 7″ record includes four new arrangements by Eric Lyon of The Germs, Minutemen, Brahms and Deerhoof (featuring Greg on percussion). Cover artwork is by none other than Jad Fair. String Noise, New York’s most daring violin duo has built a reputation as relentless contemporary music advocates with a propensity for the most intense and advanced classical music of today. As performers they have championed the work of extreme contemporary composers such as Bernhard Lang, Eric Lyon, and John Zorn. Their first feature album “The Book of Strange Positions” was released on NORTHERN SPY RECORDS in November 2015. Tiny Mix Tapes describes this collection of original works and arrangements by Eric Lyon of Bad Brains, Violent Femmes, Deerhoof, Radiohead, and Black Flag as a “mix of classic punk covers and ZERO APOLOGIES.”
